Ni De Aqui, Ni De Alla is a very special project to me where I had the privilege of collaborating with the incredibly talented Alejandra Ruiz for this project. This was our first installation of "Ni de Aqui, Ni de Allá" where we aimed to represent some of our experiences as latinas living in the United States.
Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con la talentosa Alejandra Ruiz para este proyecto. Esta fue nuestra primera instalación de "Ni de Aquí, Ni de Allá" dónde trabajamos para representar algunas de nuestras experiencias como latinas viviendo en los Estados Unidos.
We wanted each piece in this collection to tell a unique story. All of our plates were wheel thrown. We decided to employ a variety of techniques to create each unique plate. Carving, slip-trailing, and/or hand-building each plate before glazing and finally firing!
