Artist Statement
My work revolves around identity, often delving into the emotional turmoil tied to my own cultural background and intersectionalities. Through my art, I aim to uplift underrepresented communities by bringing attention to some of the hidden struggles and shared experiences. I enjoy integrating elements of Mexican pop culture such as "La Loteria" and iconic street food. Growing up with a lack of representation in the arts inspires me to create works about my own experiences in order to inspire others who’ve experienced similar hardships.  These familiar symbols serve as a bridge, connecting my own experiences with larger cultural narratives.
Creating art has become a fundamental tool for me to explore and connect with the intersectionalities of my identity. It allows me to navigate and understand the intersectionalities of my identity. My work is not only a reflection of my own journey of self-discovery, but a tribute to the resilience of all of the people, experiences, and places that have shaped me into who I am. I invite viewers to look beyond the surface and find their own stories within my pieces.
