Migration, 2025,
Nature has long been an inspiration for many artists throughout history. This work was inspired by monarch butterflies and their natural migration patterns. Monarch butterflies are a prominent symbol for justice, for immigrants, and the environment. They’re a symbol of our story. A story of migration, resilience, and generational sacrifices so the next can fly further. With the increase in violent ICE raids and deportations in our community, conversations surrounding immigrants and their stories are especially important. I want the monarchs on this vase to serve as a reminder that just like them, we are stronger together.
